Multitasking getting it done? Maybe not so much

It’s considered by most to be an essential skill for time-strapped managers, but the problem with multitasking is that you never completely focus on anything, says Luda Kopeikina, a management consultant and author of The Right Decision Every Time: How to Reach Perfect Clarity on Tough Decisions (Prentice Hall, 2005).

Focus fully on one task before moving on to the next. Set a timer if you need to. “By concentrating solely on one item, you will be able to get through your to-do list more quickly than if your attention is scattered,” Kopeikina says.
